Job Description

Alfa Laval Olmi is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of highly engineered, custom-built mechanical products (such as high-pressure shell-and-tube heat exchangers and air coolers). In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering design and workshop production, serving as the central point of contact for project planning, interdepartmental coordination, and client communication.

This is a senior-level technical management role requiring solid experience in handling heavy manufacturing and complex product engineering, rather than standard consumer goods or low-complexity machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the execution of complex engineered orders from contract award through to manufacturing, assembly, testing, and final delivery.
  • Act as the primary interface between the engineering office, the production workshop, procurement, and quality departments to ensure alignment on specifications and timelines.
  • Manage direct communications, project updates, and technical coordination with international clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee projects dealing with sophisticated engineering designs, complex technical drawings, highly specialized materials, and precise welding requirements.
  • Maintain regular alignment and interface with our corporate and production facilities in France.
  • Monitor project milestones, manage potential criticalities, and implement corrective actions on the shop floor when technical or scheduling risks arise.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of solid experience in a project management or project engineering role within a heavy machinery or complex product manufacturing company.
  • Technical Background: A strong technical foundation is required. Candidates must have direct experience working with engineering departments, technical drawings, specialized fabrication (welding, metallurgy), and shop-floor manufacturing processes.
  • Education: A University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Energy, Management, or related disciplines). A Master’s degree is not required, as priority will be given to practical, high-level technical field experience.
  • Languages: Fluent written and spoken English is essential for client relations, engineering documentation, and daily collaboration with French entities.
  • Mobility & Travel: Willingness to travel internationally to France approximately once a month (around 3 days per trip), with the flexibility to support on-site criticalities when necessary.
  • Work Arrangement: While hybrid remote work options are supported by the company, close proximity to the Suisio (BG) facility is preferred to ensure a consistent, active presence alongside the production lines during critical assembly phases.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: From 40,000 EUR upwards, commensurate with the candidate's actual experience and technic
