About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead our solar delivery on the Solomon Airport Solar Hub, a 440MW project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Once complete, it will be WA’s largest solar development, with around 671,000 solar panels installed across the build and construction due for completion in 2028.

And this is just the start. Beyond this project, there are plenty of opportunities on the horizon, both in Western Australia and across Australia and New Zealand, as our pipeline continues to grow.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a project and being at the centre of its delivery on site. You’ll be responsible for the performance of AEC’s scope, covering program, cost, commercial outcomes, risk, quality, safety and client relationships, and making sure the work is well planned, well managed and delivered successfully.

You’ll be involved from mobilisation through to construction and handover, setting up your team, resources and site systems, and coordinating delivery across trades and subcontractors.

This is a FIFO, site-based role on a 2:1 roster. You’ll be based at one of the best camps in the Pilbara, complete with ensuite rooms, a gym, recreation facilities and a mess hall that’s earned quite the reputation for its quality food.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of your project or package, from mobilisation through to completion.
• Take ownership of program, budget, cost control and forecasting.
• Manage contracts, variations, claims and other commercial matters.
• Build strong client relationships and act as the key point of contact throughout delivery.
• Lead and manage subcontractors and delivery partners on site.
• Coordinate civil, electrical, mechanical and construction activities across the project.
• Lead your project team and build a positive, accountable culture on site.
• Provide clear and regular reporting to clients and senior leadership, with a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

• Extensive experience managing construction delivery on renewable energy, infrastructure or civil projects, ideally solar.
• Proven ability to independently manage a project or package from mobilisation through to completion.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, including cost management, forecasting, variations and claims.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Solid knowledge of WHS legislation and safe work practices.
• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to solve problems and keep projects moving.
• Comfortable working FIFO on a 2:1 roster.
• Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Experience on remote or Pilbara-based projects advantageous.
