We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our Mclean, VA location. The individual in this role will be responsible for delivery of customer-focused IT projects. The individual will work closely with project managers and various software engineering, infrastructure, and technical operations teams to assess requirements, coordinate resources, and deliver projects for the customer. S/he will apply expertise in Agile project management processes to support program development, integration, and operation of the customer’s IT infrastructure (i.e., full systems lifecycle of the IT infrastructure).

The ideal candidate will have experience performing industry-standard Agile Project Management tasks and tailoring standard process lifecycles to function effectively in a small, fast-paced environment. S/he must have strong written and verbal individual and organizational communication skills and the ability to articulate technical project requirements to both customers and internal teams.

What you will do

• Facilitate scrum ceremonies and communicate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate development of deliverables and products.
• Manage multiple medium- to large-scale projects through all sprints/iterations and phases of the project
• Organize and facilitate sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile-related events
• Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management
• Partner with product owners, Agile coaches, and scrum teams to develop user stories and acceptance criteria definition, facilitate the definition of minimal viable product, and lead continuous refinement and prioritization of the product backlog
• Assist the team in making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
• Assist with removal of obstacles that may hinder the team’s ability to deliver assigned goals
• Update Agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs
• Promote continuous improvement and help teams increase velocity
• Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation
• Ability to communicate, influence, and partner effectively using strong verbal and written communication
• Prepare and present program status reports and briefings to outside stakeholders

What you will need:

• Demonstrated on-the-job experience as a Scrum Master for multiple teams
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience organizing and facilitating sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile-related events
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience using Jira to plan and track projects, including development of dashboards, boards, projects, and user stories
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience effectively communicating across programs and with customers, stakeholders, and other contractors
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience sharing knowledge and learning from others to ensure the team’s success
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience managing priorities across multiple projects (time management)

Nice to haves:

• Demonstrated on-the-job experience in project management fundamentals using approved tools and techniques for the execution of IT activities (e.g., scheduling, execution, and monitoring/controlling)
• Experience working within a technical environment handling either multiple software development projects or exceptionally large volumes of data
• Experience with creating and successfully implementing strategy for customer organizations

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Salary Range

$149,213—$222,319 USD
