Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large, complex initiatives that support strategic, operational, regulatory, and market readiness objectives. This position will be full-time and hybrid in Pittsburgh, PA for a 6-12 month contract.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead large, complex technology projects (30–60 different product areas) with business readiness activities baked in through the full project management lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of committed business outcomes
  • Coordinate technology and business workstreams across cross-functional teams to achieve committed business outcomes
  • Develop and execute integrated delivery plans that align scope, timelines, resources, dependencies, and business objectives
  • Build strong partnerships across business and technology teams while providing clear, outcome-focused communications and recommendations to leadership
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and escalate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies to protect delivery commitments
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and resource allocation to achieve delivery objectives
  • Ensure compliance with Delivery Excellence standards, governance requirements, project controls, and change management processes
  • Drive readiness, operational transition, training, and implementation activities to support successful adoption and business outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional teams, facilitate decision-making, drive accountability, and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Leverage lessons learned and best practices to improve delivery processes, governance, and organizational effectiveness

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7 years of experience in project management, successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget, and managing multiple projects concurrently:
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands
  • Proven ability to manage projects using a wide range of methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Experience in project management in the healthcare or health insurance industry
  • Experience with the following tools used at Highmark: Monday.com, Planview, and Oracle ERP Resource and Financial module
  • Experience with Open Enrollment (OEP/AEP) readiness planning
  • Commercial and Government health insurance product implementation experience
  • Ability to lead as a Program Manager while grounded in Project Management discipline

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
  • Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

$80-$83 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
