Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by leading the project team members to achieve project requirements, deliver contracted deliverables, and meet the committed project result.

The work model for the role is: onsite

This role is contributing to the Traction Division in China.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • People management & Leadership Creates and drives implementation of project management and after service strategy as a member of the management team. Leads the project and service team allocated to the project. Motivates and monitors internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones. Coordinates and oversees team development and standardized process development to continually improve the effectiveness of the teams.
  • Project Tendering support and internal salesLead to release the Sales quotation principle and list price of products annually. Responsible for quotation and ensures the most competitive offers considering the market situation, customer conditions and factory profits. Participates in project risk review processes and Supports bid/no bid analyses and decisions. Oversee the terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, and pricing) in each offer and frame agreements.
  • Project Execution and Control Ensures that the project follows execution’s best practices and ABB policies. Report Revenue forecast and take immediate recovery actions for schedule delays and cost overruns, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow. Monitors and controls project progress effectively and efficient resource utilization. Identifies, qualifies, quantifies, manages project risk, and ensures all opportunities are identified and pursued. Captures, analyzes, and shares lessons learned throughout the project. Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer, all in accordance with the contract and IRIS standard.
  • After service ManagementActs as escalation point for claim issues. Ensure customers’ focus, understanding of sense of urgency and care in their own area of responsibility. Monitor the CCRP and follow up with the closure of TOP 5 customer complaints. Approve the service offerings for spare parts and maintenance. Optimize the process of unwheeled maintenance and overhaul projects to increase market penetration. Drives continuous improvement culture and the implementation of improvements based on customer feedback.

Qualifications for the role
  • 8+ years of experience in project management or service management, working in an engineering/ manufacturing environment.
  • Advance Planning, Scheduling and Organizational skills.
  • Strong collaborative and solution-oriented mindset, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience managing teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel and engage face to face with our customers
  • Ease communicating in English is essential, both written and oral.
