Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a large-scale solar farm project based in Charleville, Co. Cork. This long-term project, expected to run for over two years, is a key part of a wider renewable energy programme, with further work planned in the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from planning through to execution and handover. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility-scale renewable energy projects, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and teams effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the solar farm project in line with programme and budget.
  • Coordinate all site activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Ensure all works are carried out to the highest quality standards and in accordance with design specifications.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, schedules, and financial records.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive performance and foster a collaborative, safety-first culture on-site.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Renewable Energy Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of solar farm construction, groundworks, and grid connection processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project teams effectively.
  • Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel to site as required.
