Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the safe, profitable, and efficient execution of electrical construction projects. This role oversees project performance, safety, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and sales growth while managing project accounts from planning through completion. The Project Manager also builds strong customer relationships, identifies new business opportunities, and drives continuous improvement to support company goals.

Location: This role may be based in New Berlin, Mount Pleasant, or Port Washington.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project and Financial Management

  • Partner with business lines to coordinate, execute, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Apply sound project management practices, including requirements analysis, business case development, project charters, project plans, resource plans, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with business leaders to ensure appropriate project prioritization, staffing, and resourcing.
  • Achieve minimum budgeted net profit targets.
  • Manage billing and collections to support positive cash flow.
  • Facilitate continuous process improvement to increase field productivity.
  • Forecast weekly goals and analyze performance factors to adjust for maximum efficiency.
  • Share manpower, resources, and tools across branches and departments as needed.

Customer Satisfaction and Business Development

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring high-quality service.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer concerns or complaints.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities through networking and customer interaction.

Safety, Hazard Recognition, and Elimination

  • Pre-plan daily work tasks and identify methods to eliminate hazards.
  • Observe work habits and potential hazards, and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Uphold safety as the company’s top priority and support the goal of zero accidents.
  • Promote open communication between field and office teams regarding safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needs.
  • Complete safety training as expected for all company personnel.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; significant relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • 5+ years of prior experience, preferably in electrical construction.
  • Knowledge of estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and project cost control processes.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrates a positive safety attitude and personal integrity; both are non-negotiable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply effective leadership techniques that support employee performance and engagement.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the company and with customers.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment and may require sitting or standing for extended periods. Occasional travel to job sites may be required, with exposure to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand or walk for extended periods.
