The Opportunity

Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Metering team working with Local Councils. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the successful delivery and performance of contracts and projects.

The role oversees project planning, financial performance, compliance, stakeholder management, risk management, safety and resource allocation to ensure contractual obligations are met safely, efficiently and profitably.

As the primary point of accountability for contract delivery, you will ensure timely delivery in accordance with client expectations, legislative requirements and organisational standards.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts and/or projects, including project budgets, forecasting and financial performance
  • Background in Water, plumbing or metering preferred
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and principles
  • High-level communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to lead, coach and support multidisciplinary teams to achieve business objectives
  • Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience within the Metering industry is desirable
