The Opportunity

Join KBR’s Integrated Soldier Systems Branch (ISSB) and play a crucial part in overseeing all phases of planning and execution for small yet unique projects within the LAND1508 program. The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from initiation through to introduction into service and formal handover to the sustainment organisation. The incumbent also plays a key role in planning, organising, coordinating, and controlling project activities in accordance with established company policies, procedures, systems, and approved requirements.

Based in Canberra and co-located with the client, this position serves as a critical communication link between the Melbourne project office and SOGC, facilitating day-to-day client engagement and ensuring the alignment with project goals and objectives throughout delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans including defined tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of project plans, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control project activities to meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
  • Regular communication with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Provide updates on project progress, address client concerns, and ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Foster relationships with clients through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among team members to enhance overall project efficiency.
  • Ensure projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including plans, reports, and other records.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the industry, staying updated on trends and best practices.
  • Apply industry knowledge to enhance project outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

  • A Tertiary qualification in Project Management or a related discipline (bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management or a related field.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including planning, organisation, and coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage clients and stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Minimum AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and Australian citizenship required to be eligible.
