What you’ll do

As the Project Manager you will be responsible for the forward planning and execution of key organisational projects at any of our sites across Australia, ensuring the quality, reliability and accredited safety standards are adhered to.

Accountabilities for this position will include:

· Project Planning and Execution

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support and lead cross-departmental teams, including engineering, production, quality, and procurement, to achieve project objectives.

· Risk Management and Problem-Solving

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and troubleshoot issues to minimise delays and cost overruns.

· Continuous Improvement

  • Support lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to drive process improvements.
  • Analyse project performance and outcomes and report to the wider business lessons
    learned for future project.

· Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all projects comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, schedules, and updates.

What you’ll bring

·A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
and/or a recognised certification in Project Management.

·Minimum of 15 years of project management/performance management or analytical experience in
a manufacturing or industrial environment.

·Strong knowledge of project management methodologies , tools and software (eg MS
Project, Smartsheet).

·Familiarity with manufacturing processes, supply chain management and quality systems.

·Excellent leadership, organisational and time management skills.

·Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

·Willingness to travel to vendor sites or other company locations as needed.

·Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

·Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

This role will be primarily office-based, with regular visits to the workshops.

Rail First Asset Management has been in operation since the privatisation of the rail industry in the late 1990’s, originally as a subsidiary of the Sasser Family Holdings, Inc. (SFH) a 4th generation, family-owned transportation asset services company with experience dating back to 1928 in the USA.
