About the role

Orica is on the hunt for a passionate Project Manager - Carmen Copper to join our high-performing Cebu team.

As Project Manager, you will foster strong customer relationships, lead teams of Blasting Professionals and Operators, and ensure the safe and efficient delivery of our services. You'll bridge the gap between our commercial, operational, supply, and technical teams, crafting customer-centric solutions.

Your role as a Project Manager is dynamic and diverse, requiring adaptability, composure under pressure, and a relentless dedication to superior customer service.

What you will be doing

  • Operational Planning & Readiness Management
    Lead continuous planning and execution of project roadmaps, ensuring alignment with operational targets, safety standards, and business objectives while optimizing existing processes and performance.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    Act as the central point of contact across commercial, operations, supply chain, finance, safety, and technical teams to ensure seamless coordination, efficient resource utilization, and uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement
    Maintain strong partnerships with clients and internal stakeholders to monitor performance against commitments, address evolving requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Regulatory & Site Compliance Oversight
    Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements by maintaining permits, licenses, and site certifications in line with country-specific regulations.
  • Workforce & Capability Management
    Assess workforce needs, support ongoing recruitment, and oversee onboarding and capability development to sustain operational efficiency and meet project demands.
  • Operational Excellence & Readiness Reviews
    Drive regular site readiness and performance reviews, focusing on infrastructure, systems, supply chain, and safety protocols to ensure consistent operational excellence.
  • Commercial & Technical Alignment
    Support contract execution and ongoing delivery by ensuring alignment of commercial terms, technical requirements, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Training & Continuous Knowledge Transfer
    Facilitate ongoing training programs, technical upskilling, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen team capability and sustain high performance.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field; PMP certification is an advantage.
  • 15-20 years’ experience in managing mining or industrial projects, including greenfield developments.
  • Strong technical skills including knowledge in cost management
  • Knowledge in regulatory requirements/compliance
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and budgeting systems.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Deep understanding of permitting, operational readiness, and health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Strong commercial relations skills
