TITLE: Project Manager

Planning Org: Retail Solutions/PS Europe

REPORTS TO: PS Managing Partner Italy

LOCATION: Milan, Italy

The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, timelines, and budget expectations. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, engaging with key stakeholders, and driving the successful execution of project deliverables across all phases of the project lifecycle. The Project Manager will also play a critical role in fostering strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, and maintaining governance, risk, and compliance standards throughout project execution.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Retail Solutions Project Manager plans, schedules, monitors, evaluates, and directs projects to ensure that comprehensive business solutions are successfully implemented across a wide range of first-division customers.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Ensure that projects are completed on-time, within budget and according to specifications
• Prepare and maintain detailed project plans and playing a leading role in scoping, planning, costing, and pricing projects
• Manage customer acceptance of the solutions based on the agreed Statement of Work, taking the lead in resolving any issues
• Coordinate the setup of the project environment, including defining and maintaining a roles and responsibilities matrix, personnel plan, and resource schedule for each project team member
• Measure, track, evaluate, and communicate progress against the project schedule through project reporting, including financials and compliance reporting
• Provide regular project status updates and lead customer status meetings
• Use project management tools such as MS Project, Changepoint/PSA, and Microsoft Office applications
• Ensure the execution and accuracy of monthly forecasts and billings, while managing contractor procurement and payments
• Collaborate and coordinate with international teams within project and customer boundaries
• Manage customer expectations and ensure customer satisfaction
• Proactively manage and resolve project escalations as needed to ensure project success
• Actively participate in presales activities, with occasional travel required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The business environment is constantly evolving, and the role requires flexibility in task assignments. The ideal candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

The position may also involve occasional short business trips.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in project management
• Experience working effectively in complex and challenging solution implementation environments
• Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders, including internal PM teams, customers, and management
• Proven experience in managing complex IT projects
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
• Strong consulting skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills, even in situations without formal authority

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Project Management certification
• Experience with software development and implementation projects
• Experience in the Retail industry is highly valued
• Experience in customer management and collaboration
• Knowledge of / experience with Electronic Payment Methods is considered a strong plus
