[Albemarle] is hiring for a [Capital Project Manager – TAI Plant] This position is in-office and located in [Taichung]

The Capital Project Manager, based at TAI plant, in assigned project is accountable for oversees the full project lifecycle—from concept development, Front-end study through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover—ensuring alignment with site strategy, regulatory requirements, and corporate engineering standards. The position requires strong project delivery capabilities, construction handling capability, and the ability to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary brown field projects in a chemical processing environment.

What You Will Do

As a Project Manager in assigned project:

  • Project Leadership — Oversee full lifecycle of capital projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring technical, financial, and operational objectives are met. following Albemarle APP process.
  • Stakeholder Engagement — Lead coordination with Business, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance etc to ensure project objectives align with strategy and operational needs. Facilitate cross‑functional project reviews to confirm scope, technical requirements, and business justification. Ensure all internal stakeholders understand project timelines, impacts, and required support.
  • Engineering Oversight — Provide engineering guidance, review technical designs, and ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Budget & Cost Control — Develop capital budgets, manage expenditures, track forecasts, and implement cost‑saving strategies without compromising quality.
  • Schedule Management — Create and maintain detailed project schedules, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure timely delivery.
  • Risk & Compliance — Identify project risks, lead risk‑mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contract & Vendor Management — Coordinate procurement activities, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reporting & Documentation — Provide executive‑level project updates, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure transparent communication across the organization.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Engineering related discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline required).
  • 10+ years of experience managing capital projects in the chemical, petrochemical, or related process industries.
  • Proven track record delivering multi‑million‑dollar capital projects in an operating plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical process systems, unit operations, and process safety management (PSM).
  • Experience with engineering design, construction management, and commissioning/startup.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost estimating, forecasting, and capital budgeting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP or PE preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in TAI plant environments.
  • Requires regular presence in operating units and construction areas.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with all site safety protocols.
  • Occasional travel to engineering partners, vendors, or corporate offices may be required.
  • Better to have , feasible for oversea project support.

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of materials management, procurement, receiving, warehousing, GR, etc
  • Experience with SAP Project Module and other basic SAP transactions
  • Overall site project leader experience
  • Feasibility for Cross region project support
