PURPOSE
This position supports Entergy LA distribution ops team by managing and supporting all project aspects implemented within the OpCo team including routine work, construction programs, grid modernization and work management processes. The incumbent will support company & contract workgroups and interface with many other organizations such as supply chain, finance, project teams, and central organizations by providing project status, identifying risks, and recommending adjustments to safely meet the project schedule and budget ensuring efficiency in all steps.


JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Louisiana Work Management Team and State Budget Steering Committee on management of projects to achieve the desired benefit and financial goals
  • Work to aid Entergy’s compliance with regulations, and advise/consult with management, employees and suppliers on issues
  • Supports company and contract workforce to analyze projects, assure compliance of procedures, processes and specifications
  • Manage operational performance through data, information, reporting and analysis. Utilize Root Cause Analysis for investigative process and support all departments in understanding Entergy project goal achievement
  • Support Training for personnel, help build skills competency assurance and general work environment improvement
  • Ensure local supervision is directing employees/contractors in proper work techniques, safety policy and protocols
  • Obtains and provides operational related information, ALERTS, knowledge and skills training, including executive reporting Work with Contract Compliance and Network Teams to ensure effective implementation of major projects/processes through analyzing audit/observation/assessment information and consistent system-wide application of processes/procedures across the Jurisdiction
  • Engage with Louisiana Region Managers and System Teams on issues of consistency or common goal alignment
  • Establish, track and control project costs and schedules to meet budgets and critical milestones.
  • Prepare and conduct management review meetings at critical milestones. Maintain current information on project status in all relevant division and accounting databases.
  • Resolve project conflicts that affect cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction, and develop appropriate action and recovery plans.
  • Ensure that the project team utilizes the Capital Projects Process in the development and implementation of capital projects
  • Manage a portfolio of projects and be accountable for the coordination and communication to all project resources, both internal and external, to develop contingency plans.
  • Ensure timely closeout of projects, including all required documentation. Provide feedback to functional management on team members' individual performance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management
4year degree or equivalent 5+ years’ work experience

Minimum experience required of the position
5+ years of experience in customer service, engineering or operations

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. Must possess a working knowledge of utility rates, regulatory issues, company policy, construction of new facilities and contract requirements, and can prioritize opportunities based on probability of success and profitability. Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator, able to effectively develop and present sales proposals to prospective customers. Excellent project management and analytical skills. Excellent computer skills and aptitude. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent decision making and leadership abilities. Knowledge of and ability to learn the appropriate electric distribution and transmission systems. Ability to understand Distribution Design & Construction Procedures and Processes. Work extended hours during emergency restoration efforts. Able to provide storm support as needed for minor and major weather events. Also be part of LA Command Center function.
