About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading several projects at one time with accountability to multiple departments and ultimately the Senior Leadership Team at Teel. They will be responsible, with assistance and oversight, to develop and manage to a timeline, including influencing people over whom they have no direct authority. This position will work with their project teams to request additional resources to meet overall timelines and budgets. They will work on computer reporting systems and use email, power point, and other Microsoft software products to keep all teams apprised of project statuses and needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manages New Business, continuous improvement, and other significant projects at Teel.
• Conducts project meetings and assign tasks and activities in projects they are managing.
• Follow-ups with project team members and stakeholders on completion, roadblocks, and updates.
• Inputs project plans, tasks, and updates to the Project Management System.
• Reviews inputs to create new project charters and get appropriate approvals.
• Develops and reevaluates financial cases for projects as new information becomes available.
• Works with resources to ensure there is sufficient focus on assigned activities.
• Works with Accounting and Finance to develop tracking methodologies or reports for cost savings.
• Keeps all systems and information repositories up to date.
• Provides updates to projects and reports to supervisor and staff.
• Reports to the Steering Team as needed.
• Tracks success or failure of cost reduction activities with the assistance of other departments.
• Additional project as assigned by supervisor.
What You Need:
• Associates degree in business, or a related field required.
• 2 or more years of experience as a project manager with responsibilities that have increased.
• Experience in a manufacturing organization is preferred.
• Training in 5S systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of Project Management Tools and Techniques required.
• Knowledge of Project Management software, such as MS Project or Inloox is a plus.
• Project management certification completed or in process preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple competing priorities.
• Ability to work in a team environment and manage activities and goals through influence.
• Proficient user of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
• Experience and demonstrated success providing customer service and working closely with customers to achieve common goals.
• Minimal travel is required from time to time.
