Project Manager – Tier 1 Main Contractor (Mixed-Use Development)
A leading Tier 1 Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a large-scale mixed-use development project in Galway City. This is an excellent opportunity to join a top contractor delivering a high-profile project comprising residential, commercial, and retail elements. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, planning expertise, and a proven track record in managing complex builds.
Responsibilities
Lead the project from pre-construction through to completion and handover, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and quality standards
Develop, monitor, and update the project programme using planning software, ensuring adequate resourcing throughout
Identify risks to the programme early and implement mitigation measures while reporting any delays to senior management
Oversee procurement of subcontractors and materials in line with the project schedule and commercial targets
Manage design coordination and ensure timely resolution of design queries in line with project milestones
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, promoting a strong safety culture across all site activities
Chair weekly site and QA meetings, ensuring accurate reporting, tracking of actions, and stakeholder communication
Maintain high-quality standards through implementation of QA systems, inspections, and subcontractor performance management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Project Manager role within main contracting
Proven experience delivering large-scale mixed-use or residential/commercial construction projects
Strong knowledge of construction processes, planning, and site management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and planning software such as MS Project
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance requirements
