Purpose
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Canada West team, based in Edmonton, AB. This role is suited for a project management professional with experience delivering small to medium-sized projects within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors, operating in a multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment.
The Project Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of projects, with accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, and stakeholder alignment. This role works closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure projects are executed in accordance with Worley standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of projects across all phases (FEED through detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning).
Define project scope, objectives, and execution strategies in alignment with client and internal requirements.
Accountable for overall project performance, including schedule, cost, quality, and safety.
Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams, including engineering, procurement, and project controls.
Ensure project deliverables meet contractual requirements and Worley standards.
Commercial & Financial Management
Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
Monitor project financial performance and implement corrective actions as required.
Support contract administration, including managing scope changes, variations, and commercial risks.
Contribute to accurate project reporting, including forecasting and earned value metrics.
Project Controls & Reporting
Work closely with project controls teams to manage scheduling, cost control, and progress measurement.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project status, risks, and key performance indicators.
Support data-driven decision-making to maintain project performance.
Risk & Change Management
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
Support the implementation of mitigation strategies to reduce risk exposure.
Ensure management of change (MOC) processes are followed and properly documented.
Stakeholder & Client Management
Support client engagement and maintain strong working relationships.
Act as a key point of contact for assigned project scopes or work packages.
Facilitate communication between internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Ensure alignment of expectations and delivery outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical & Multidisciplinary Coordination
Coordinate across engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery.
Review technical deliverables for alignment with project requirements, codes, and standards.
Support resolution of technical issues in collaboration with discipline leads.
Safety & Quality Leadership
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Worley’s HSE policies.
Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.
Qualifications – What You Will Bring
Technical and Industry Experience
Experience delivering engineering projects within oil & gas, energy, mining, or related sectors.
Proven experience managing small to medium-sized projects in an EPC/EPCM environment.
Solid understanding of the full project lifecycle (FEED through execution and closeout).
Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Working knowledge of project controls, including scheduling, cost control, and forecasting.
Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA (or equivalent).
Relevant experience in project engineering or project management roles.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
