Project Manager

Location – Parramatta

Employment type – temporary until June 2028, two vacancies

Salary – Gr 9/10 Salary $129,464 - $ 142,665 plus superannuation

Your role

Project manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the projects for Housing Portfolio, from inception through to completion. Project manager coordinates with project stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to project objectives.

The Project Manager is required to use Housing Portfolio IT systems to plan, monitor and regularly report to stakeholders on the progress of the project including identification and mitigation of risks which may impact successful delivery of projects.

Compliance Program Team

We are looking for someone with a high-level capability to provide both project management and technical support to the Compliance Program Team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of Compliance Programs and Projects associated with regulatory requirements such as Fire Safety

Capital Works Team

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our Portfolio Asset Management team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of capital upgrade projects, including but not limited to projects which range across various upgrades such as heritage upgrades, façade upgrades, structural upgrades, roof upgrades, restoration upgrades, acquisition upgrades, stormwater and sewer upgrades etc. You will be managing multiple projects concurrently. and ensure the successful delivery of projects within the designated budget, time, and with the desired outcomes. The role requires strong leadership and expertise in project management within the construction field

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design, briefing, resourcing, implementation and coordination of programs of work with the project team to deliver effective business outcomes and meet client service delivery needs.
  • Establish the approaches, systems, processes and practices for project reports and documentation for Manager/Director and other key project stakeholders to report on project progress.
  • Lead and identify needs for research and provide project-driven direction and support for auditing policies, plans and procedures to contribute to enhanced practice and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of projects and implementations, including developing and monitoring project plans
  • Tender management in compliance to Housing Portfolio Procurement policies and guidelines to establish contracts with external service providers.
  • Administer contracts to achieve delivery of project outcomes ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled in full compliance by all parties.
  • Monitor project performance and implement risk mitigation strategies to manage delivery risks in consultation with the senior managers.
  • Lead and manage complaint resolution by investigation, identification of root causes, proposing and implementing required corrective actions and drafting formal responses to those complaints including ministerial in a timely and effective manner to ensure client satisfaction.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualifications in Engineering, Architectural, Building, Surveying, Project/Business management or related construction discipline.
  • Sound project management experience with strong stakeholder engagement
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience in tender management and contract administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate risks, develop solutions, and drive program success while managing competing priorities.

Compliance Programs role specific:

  • Previous experience working within fire safety field will be advantageous. This includes managing delivery of the residential buildings related projects which incorporates achieving fire safety compliance.
  • FPAS accreditations (e.g. FSD, FSC, FSA) received from FPAA or other industry recognised accreditations related to fire safety will be highly advantageous.

Capital Upgrade team role specific:

  • Proven experience in project management within the housing, construction, or related industries.
