About the Work:
Under the direction of the Professional Development Specialist, the Project Manager plays a key role in advancing training, education, and operational readiness for HCIDs within the Regional Emerging Special Pathogens Treatment Center (RESPTC) and Special Pathogens Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). This position supports the planning, coordination, and execution of education and training initiatives for the MGH Biothreats Response Team and the broader Special Pathogens Program. This position is grant-funded and is contingent on continued availability of these funds.
In addition to providing administrative and project management support, the Project Manager contributes to programmatic development, team engagement, and continuous improvement efforts. This includes supporting strategic initiatives, fostering collaborative team dynamics, and identifying opportunities for program growth and innovation. The Project Manager also helps ensure the operational readiness of the RESPTC, including the maintenance and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE), supply management, and the preparedness of HCID-designated care spaces across the Emergency Department, Biocontainment Unit, and Special Pathogens Units.

Actively involved in theRESPTC project management design, development, and implementation while ensuring key initiatives and grant deliverables are completed on time.
Leadsbiothreats project management plans and activities to ensuretimelycompletion of deliverables.Identifiespotential barriers to completion of team member assignments andintervenesto ensure project timelines are met.
Supports the development and implementation of a robust internal training program tomaintainour capabilities as the RESPTC and as a frontline facility
Supports thepreparation ofcontent that is reflective of the best evidenceavailableand which is consistent with department and organizational policy
Supportsthe planning and implementation of internal trainings, exercises, and associated documentation
Support the overall readiness of the RESPTC
MaintainAV communication systems used in the Biocontainment Unit
Maintain and ensure the availability ofappropriate PPEand supplies for response
Support updates to policies and procedures for the RESPTC
Build and/or sustain relationships with key departmentssuch as Infection Control, the Emergency Department, Buildings and Grounds, and Materials Management.
Participates in the development ofafter-actionreports and continuous improvement plans following internalRESPTC and Special Pathogens Programtrainings and exercises.
Supportsmultiple aspects withintheRESPTCprogramand CDMand assumes responsibilityfor allassignedprojects simultaneously.
Attendsall relevantmeetings; contributes ideas andmonitorsthe planning processasrequired
Escalatesidentifieddelays and/or challenges with specific projects as necessary to ensure steps towards remediation are taken.
Prepares and contributes to programmatic reports, as assigned.
Response Operations
Serves as a PPE Manager and providesadditionaltechnical support during activations of the RESPTC.
Oversees the management of supplies and equipment to support RESPTC program response operations as it pertains tobiothreatssupplies and equipment.
Supportsappropriateinternalafter-action follow-up and process improvementpost-response foranyactivationsof the RESPTC.
Human Resource Management
Supports the Professional Development Specialist withtherecruitment ofBiothreats Response Team members
Participates in team training and support of all team personnel
Collaborateswith the Professional Development Specialist to ensureteam member competencies are up to dateand track evaluation
Supports compliance with national patient safety goals, accrediting agency standards, and quality initiatives

Completion of ICS/NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800 courses, before or upon hire.

Working Conditions
This position will be hybrid innatureand the incumbent will work with their supervisor toestablisha final schedule; however, candidates shouldanticipatebeing on campus 3 days per week.
