Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly autonomous Project Manager / Business Analyst (PM/BA) to lead the expansion of our commodities trading business in China, across both onshore and offshore structures. The role requires a proven track record setting up securities or commodities trading operations in China, from entity setup and licensing/registrations through to technology, compliance, and operational readiness.

The successful candidate will bridge business and technology functions, ensuring the seamless rollout and integration of trading, risk management, and post-trade infrastructure tailored to China’s market and regulatory environment. This is a strategic and hands-on role suited to a self-starter capable of navigating complex stakeholder landscapes and local market dynamics.

In this role, you will

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of initiatives to establish and expand commodities trading capabilities in China (onshore and offshore), covering regulatory, operational, and technology workstreams.
  • Manage project delivery across entity setup, licensing/registrations, infrastructure build-out, and go-live readiness.
  • Conduct detailed business analysis across front-, middle-, and back-office workflows for commodities and/or securities trading (e.g., trade capture, risk, confirmations, settlement, reporting).
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and integration of trading, risk, and post-trade systems (e.g., OMS/EMS, ETRM/CTRM, risk, middle-office platforms).
  • Collaborate closely with China-based regulators, exchanges/clearing venues, banks/brokers, and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant Chinese regulatory requirements, including reporting and record-keeping obligations.
  • Coordinate across global business, operations, legal, risk, and technology teams to align the China build with global standards and controls.
  • Identify and proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
  • Prepare key documentation including business cases, project plans, governance updates, process maps, and stakeholder communications.

  • Strong understanding of China’s market infrastructure (venues, clearing and settlement), and local regulatory frameworks relevant to securities and commodities activities.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering systems integration and vendor implementations across trading, risk, and post-trade domains.
  • Highly self-driven and capable of operating independently in a new-market build and change environment.
