Job Title: Project Manager Modular Data Centres
Location: Australia / Remote
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of modular data centre projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards through to the end of the warranty period.

The position requires strong project management expertise, technical understanding of data centre infrastructure, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and clients across the full project lifecyclefrom new builds to fit-outs.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting frameworks.

  • Ensure compliance with governance, documentation standards, and industry regulations.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain clear communication and alignment.

  • Manage vendor relationships, procurement processes, and contract administration.

  • Facilitate project meetings, progress updates, and issue resolution.

Technical Oversight

  • Oversee design, construction, and commissioning of modular data centres, including power, cooling, security, and network infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical and client requirements are met.

Risk, Quality & Safety

  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans.

  • Ensure compliance with WHS/OHS legislation, environmental requirements, and company safety protocols.

  • Monitor quality assurance and ensure deliverables meet contractual and performance standards.

Financial Management

  • Track project costs, cash flow, and forecasting to ensure budget compliance.

  • Review and approve invoices, variations, and claims.

  • Provide regular financial and operational reports to senior management.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership, organisation, and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal ability to manage diverse stakeholders.

  • Analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Commercial acumen with experience in contract management.

  • High attention to detail with a results-driven mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 3-5 years project management experience, preferably within data centres, critical infrastructure, or large-scale construction.

  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and ICT systems in mission-critical facilities.

  • Demonstrated success delivering projects on time and within budget.

  • Familiarity with methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification (highly regarded).

Performance Measures

  • Delivery of projects within scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Client satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Effective stakeholder and vendor management.

  • Contribution to continuous improvement of project delivery processes.
