The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution health of a large portfolio of active projects. This role ensures projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned to approved estimates by actively monitoring performance, identifying risks, and driving corrective action. The Project Manager serves as a central coordination point across technical, financial, and operational stakeholders, maintaining visibility and accountability without requiring constant oversight.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Own and maintain project schedules, including milestones, deliverables, start/finish dates, and percent complete tracking
Monitor overall project health across approximately 80–90 active projects
Ensure projects are performing against:
Planned hours
Financial targets
Approved milestones and delivery commitments
Review and challenge BOEs (Basis of Estimate) for logical alignment across hours, FTEs, and burn versus plan
Perform resource balancing and identify misalignment between planned and actual utilization
Manage and support change requests, including schedule extensions, funding changes, and scope adjustments
Track, analyze, and report KPIs, identifying underperforming projects and escalating risks early
Participate in IPT meetings and recurring project reviews
Maintain project data within Smartsheet, task trackers, WBS structures, and financial rollups
Coordinate across teams to keep projects moving forward with minimal executive intervention
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE
Project scheduling methodologies and milestone-based delivery tracking
Basis of Estimate (BOE) concepts, labor planning, and burn analysis
Resource planning and utilization management
Change management and change request workflows
KPI development and project performance metrics
Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and task-level tracking
Financial fundamentals related to project execution
COMPETENCIES
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify risk early and drive resolution
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable operating across technical, financial, and operational domains
Clear and concise communicator, both written and verbal
Able to manage complexity across a high volume of concurrent projects
Self-directed and capable of working with limited supervision
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience managing projects in a technical, manufacturing, engineering, or government-regulated environment
Hands-on experience with project controls, scheduling, and performance tracking
Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders

Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Travel required to client sites and supplier facilities to support program execution, onboarding, audits, or issue resolution, as needed.
Occasional extended hours during onboarding surges or delivery escalations.
High accountability for execution accuracy and client outcomes.
