The ideal candidate is responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering New Generation Services (NGS) projects from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, performance testing, initial operations, and prime contract close-out. Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance project team. The PM has overall responsibility for project execution, project delivery within contract requirements, and standards of quality and safety are to Customer and Mitsubishi Power performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Project team and delivery of Project outcomes. Responsibilities and accountabilities will differ depending on the domain and methods of delivery.
  • Prepares and participates in risk, issue and opportunity identification through detailed analysis of the project contracts. Works with project or program leadership to develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Develops the project baseline income statement with assistance from estimating and cost control groups with the GOA approved estimates, pricing, and DOR splits. Coordinates and provides cost reporting and analysis on a regular basis.
  • Oversee the development of an integrated project schedule including critical path for the end-to-end tasks and activities necessary to successfully implement the product or service of the project and ensure resources and dependencies are identified.
  • Responsible for expanding current work scope, developing change order technical, pricing strategies, and preparing change order execution strategies/plans.
  • Leads others and directs all phases of assigned projects by utilizing program and project methodologies, systems, tools, and quality standards as defined by Mitsubishi Power in developing project plans and deliverables that meet identified requirements.
  • Monitors all project activity including schedules, spending, and related items to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned NGS projects. Initiates action to assure project objectives and schedules are within budget and according to specifications.
  • Establishes alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies to assess potential partnership and commitment to the project.
  • Facilitates scheduled project status meeting with owner, owners’ rep, vendors, subcontractors, and others connected with the project.
  • Prepares and distributes meeting minutes indicating agreements reached, task assignments and related information.
  • Prepare and submit change orders for approval based on LOA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Engineering, Business, Information Technology
  • 5+ years of previous experience managing capital equipment power generation projects, preferably involving gas/steam turbines, generators, controls, auxiliaries, and tuning solutions.
  • Experience developing project schedules identifying critical paths necessary to successfully implement power generation projects.
  • Ability to support to sales and commercial operations, both internally and externally.
  • Previous experience managing large project budgets (Fixed or Variable) and lowering costs to maximize project profitability.
  • Strong experience managing vendor contracts, payments, handling project compliance and implementing strategies to efficiently execute on project deliverables.
  • Deep understanding of performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency of project delivery.
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to drive strategic insights and inform high-level decision-making for project success.
  • Experience with using solutions such as MS Project, Primavera P6 or equivalent solution.
  • PMP Certification is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
