Salary: £ 55,700 - £83,500
We are looking for a Delivery / Project Manager for our Cheltenham office with in a delivery team.
This is an operational role, which requires an understanding of a variety of project and delivery management tools and techniques as well as a varying degree of knowledge of the customer’s domain in order to understand and provide relevant assistance to improve their ways of working or to assist in developing solutions.
In this role you will provide financial guidance, tasking, understanding and advice across specialist deliveries relevant to the customer’s mission.
The main tasks and responsibilities of this role is as follows:
Responsible for the financial management of projects, including understanding of risk and cost mitigation for delivery.
Responsible for the profitability of the project, and identifying and raising potential opportunities of how to increase profitability of the project.
Responsible for delivering the project within the contracting constraints, including to time, budget and quality for T&M and FP contracts.
Responsible for the performance of the team both from a customer deliverable perspective and from a commercial perspective.
Responsible for building and maintaining a high-performing team, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well.
Maintain delivery momentum by focusing the team on what is most important to the current project priorities.
Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team.
Coach and mentor team members to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques.
Utilise customer relationships to identify potential areas for new opportunities.
Identify and develop opportunities for research and development work and feed it directly to the Account Leads
Responsible for organic growth within allocated project.
Apply the understanding of customer problems by working with technical subject matter experts (SME) to understand when it is appropriate to recommend use of existing capability (either customer or commercial), and when to recommend standing up a new capability.
Have knowledge of key senior stakeholder relationships to cultivate and contribute to the achievement of the company strategy.
Key criteria required.
Proven experience in a Delivery/Project Management roles, with evidence of collaborative working.
Recent experience supporting IT/Software/Cyber projects in Government or similar organisations.
Experience with in a Defence or Cyber environment.
Working practices, including PRINCE2, Agile Project Management (APM) and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).
Have a degree of responsibility and knowledge within the Account, setting strategy and defining process; influencing decisions.
Be responsible for project closedown, including performance reviews, lessons learned and ensuring that reusable artefacts are used, updated or generated to ensure process improvement.
Skills in influencing and negotiation methods and techniques.
An adaptive style in being able to communicate technical ideas in simple terms to multiple stakeholders.
You must hold and maintain UK Government clearances
