The opportunity

In this role, you will take a key position at the heart of our project organization, driving excellence across a diverse project portfolio within Hitachi Energy. As Project Management Portfolio Manager, you will shape and continuously improve our project execution strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.

You will lead and develop a high-performing PMO team, while partnering closely with senior stakeholders, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects successfully. By combining strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, you will strengthen our project management framework, support critical business decisions, and enable sustainable growth.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Contribute to implement continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the local project operation, in alignment with BU and GPG business strategies

  • Develop and continuously improve processes based on industry’s best practices. Ensure that findings from lessons learned from project execution are incorporated in continuous improvement actions

  • Participate in bid or sales phase which involves activities such as estimating and resource planning

  • Oversee project management activities at the portfolio level through project reviews with the management team and Project Managers

  • Oversee the proper application of contract and claim management methods in accordance with Hitachi Energy’s policies, and contractual agreements

  • Lead the PMO team to establish and enforce an effective project management approach to achieve both project and organizational goals

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders of the PMO

Your background

  • Master or Bachelor in the field of engineering or economics

  • Min. 5 years extensive Project Management experience with EPC component as well as in the electrical field

  • Deep knowledge about taking full ownership of the execution of complex projects and financial reporting

  • Proven track record of extensive leadership experience with staff responsibility

  • English proficiency is required, additional language skills are meritorious

  • Experience in transmission and distribution industry from advantage
