Job Description

We are looking for a talented Project Management Manager to join our team in Service in San Leandro, CA.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Lead structured performance management processes for technicians and support staff, including goal setting, regular check-ins, and formal reviews
  • Monitor individual and team performance against key metrics (productivity, quality, turnaround time, and safety)
  • Address performance gaps quickly through coaching, corrective actions, and clear expectations
  • Reinforce accountability by ensuring consistent standards across technician teams
  • Build and execute individual development plans for all employees, aligned to business needs and career progression
  • Assess technical and leadership skill gaps and drive targeted training plans
  • Support certification progression and cross-training across Power Generation, On Highway, and Industrial segments
  • Provide daily leadership presence in both shop and field operations, ensuring employees are supported and engaged
  • Foster a high-performance culture with clear expectations, recognition of results, and direct feedback
  • Lead regular team meetings, safety discussions, and communication forums to keep teams aligned
  • Drive employee engagement and retention through consistent communication and involvement
  • Partner with branch leadership on hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Ensure new hires are effectively onboarded, trained, and integrated into the team
  • Balance technician workloads and assignments to support both operational needs and development opportunities
  • Coach employees on standard work processes, quality expectations, and customer communication
  • Ensure technicians follow established procedures and deliver consistent, high-quality service
  • Reinforce best practices in job execution, documentation, and follow-through
  • Lead by example in driving a strong safety culture, reinforcing safe behaviors daily
  • Ensure all team members follow required safety processes and participate in safety programs
  • Address unsafe behaviors immediately through coaching and accountability
  • Address workplace concerns, conflicts, and performance issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Partner with HR when needed to manage complex employee relations issues
  • Maintain fair, consistent, and transparent application of policies and expectations
  • Identify and develop future supervisors and technical leaders within the team
  • Delegate responsibilities to build leadership capability in senior technicians
  • Create opportunities for employees to take on stretch assignments and grow their impact
  • Experience leading larger technician teams across multiple specialties

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Apply financial acumen and business insight to evaluate project costs, margins, and resource utilization, ensuring projects deliver expected business value.
  • Balance multiple stakeholder needs by aligning priorities across customers, sales, operations, and project teams while managing expectations effectively.
  • Build and sustain high-performing teams by fostering collaboration, leveraging diverse perspectives, and ensuring clear ownership of project outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently by tailoring updates and messaging to different audiences, ensuring transparency on scope, risks, and progress.
  • Maintain strong customer focus by understanding customer requirements, delivering on commitments, and proactively addressing concerns to build trust.
  • Direct work and drive execution by setting priorities, delegating effectively, removing obstacles, and ensuring teams remain focused on key deliverables.
  • Manage complexity, risk, and change by synthesizing data, resolving conflicts quickly, and applying structured project and change management approaches to sustain results.
  • Drive results through disciplined project management by balancing scope, schedule, and resources while valuing diverse perspectives to strengthen decision-making and outcomes.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
    This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Significant relevant experience, including supervisory experience, required.
