Under the direct supervision of the Director of Electronic Banking, the Project Management (PM) Manager leads the PM team, driving project portfolio management, resource allocation, and process standardization. While serving as a working manager responsible for project management and business analyst responsibilities of projects, the PM Manager will also provide effective leadership, mentoring, and supervision to PM staff to maximize optimum individual and team performance. The PM Manager will encourage Lean principles, champion a Human Centric AI approach, and establish a KPI-driven culture to ensure all projects deliver measurable business value and support the Bank’s strategic objectives. The PM Manager will also inspire continuous improvement within the PM team.

  • Colleague Communication and Supervision While assisting with the day-to-day operations within the PM department, solidify a team culture that exceeds expectations by clearly communicating responsibilities, providing direction, and ensuring personal accountability. Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings and provide ongoing performance feedback while ensuring direct reports feel comfortable asking questions and sharing opinions. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training new team members and the performance management of all PM staff.
  • Resource Management Assign and coordinate PM resources, including assignment and monitoring of PMs to various projects supporting Bank departments.
  • Project Management and Business Analysis While supervising PM staff, continue to serve as a designated project manager and business analyst on various projects. Lead by example and hold PM staff accountable for meeting or exceeding departmental standards.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting Monitor and report on project performance, value delivery, and strategic alignment to executive leadership.
  • Strategic Alignment & Portfolio Management Oversee the alignment of project portfolio management with organizational objectives, budget goals, and resource availability.
  • Human Centric AI Project Management Champion the adoption and integration of AI tools and process automation to optimize project execution, resource utilization, and decision-making.
  • KPI Development & Culture Develop, implement, and enforce standardized project management methodologies, KPIs, and best practices. Ensure KPIs are incorporated into all projects, handoffs, and team culture, addressing organizational deficiencies and driving accountability.
  • Process Standardization Lead annual portfolio planning and mid-year project intake processes. Create and maintain organizational process assets (templates, procedures, lessons learned). Ensure agreed upon bank standards our implemented and maintained across project types including but not limited to projects directly managed by PM, departmental projects, and projects handled by other colleagues.
  • Training & Career Development Exemplify a commitment to ongoing career development. Foster career development of the PM team by setting career development goals, seeking out development opportunities, and providing training to PM team members, including AI competencies. Also, develop assets and processes for assisting other colleagues with projects.
  • Governance & Compliance Ensure compliance with governance standards and organizational process assets.
  • Stakeholder Communication Function as a liaison between the PM and executive leadership, maintaining transparent communication and reporting.
  • Support Strategic Initiatives Support strategic planning initiatives and special projects as needed.
  • Other Duties Perform other related duties as assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement of any job at the Bank.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of project management, business analysis, or banking experience.
  • Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.
  • Experience implementing Lean programs and/or AI-driven solutions preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, MIS, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred: PMP®, PMI-ACP®, PMI-PBA®, CBAP®/CCBA®, Lean (Yellow/Green Belt or higher), analytics/AI credentials (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Automation/AI platform badges).

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent supervisory skills, with proven ability to coach, mentor and motivate employees and handle sensitive employee concerns in a positive and effective manner.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in Lean process improvement, workflow optimization, and data analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • High level of decision-making and client service orientation.
  • Experience with AI tools, project management software, and process automation preferred.
  • Proven self-starter, capable of working independently and leading teams.

Supervisory Responsibility

Yes - Direct supervision of the Project Managers within the Project Management department.

Physical Requirements

Normal office activity. Ability to travel between office locations as needed.
