JOB OVERVIEW
The Vehicle UX EE Program Manager serves as the operational
backbone for delivering the Vehicle UX vision.
While the
Vehicle UX Manager
defines strategy and experience direction,
and UX Leads create the UX requirements, the Program Manager ensures that:
These
requirements are correctly added into Jira tickets or other tracking
methods
They
are tracked throughout development
Cross-functional
teams stay aligned and accountable
Issues
or deviations are escalated early
Demos,
validation gates, and alignment rituals actually happen
There
are
no surprises
in the final vehicle experience
The role is essential in closing current execution gaps and
establishing robust, scalable workflows for how UX collaborates with EE/SW
teams.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Protect and Track the UX Vision
Maintain
complete visibility over all UX requirements, decisions, and related
engineering work.
Ensure
the intended experience is followed by downstream engineering teams
through continuous monitoring and follow-up.
Highlight
any drift from UX intent early, before it becomes costly or irreversible.
2. Requirement Intake & Jira Ticket Management
Ensure
all UX requirements provided by UX Leads are properly created as Jira
tickets or other tracking methods
Check
that tickets have clear owners, deadlines, and linkage to engineering
tasks.
Maintain
traceability from requirement â Jira item â implementation â integration â
UX validation.
3. Continuous Tracking & Follow-Up
Conduct
regular follow-up with EE, SW, HMI, Features, Integration, and Validation
teams.
Track
progress on all UX-related items — features, behaviors, animations,
interactions, lighting, audio cues, etc.
Identify
blockers early and drive them toward resolution.
Clearly
surface risks and gaps to the Vehicle UX Manager and Program Office.
4. Issue Escalation & Convergence Support
Raise
misalignments or stalled items into convergence meetings for discussion
and decisions.
Prepare
topics with context, data, and required input.
Ensure
decisions made in convergence are recorded and followed by downstream
teams.
5. Establish & Run a UX Demo Culture
Create
a recurring demo cadence to review in-progress experiences.
Coordinate
builds, recordings, or vehicle access for UX and stakeholders.
Capture
issues found during demos and ensure they are tracked in Jira and
resolved.
Support
UX sign-off and approval gates by preparing materials and organizing
stakeholders.
6. Drive Alignment & Collaboration Forums
Organize
and facilitate cross-functional alignment meetings between UX, EE, SW,
HMI, Integration, and Program Management.
Set
agendas, document outcomes, track actions, and follow through rigorously.
Ensure
all teams have a consistent understanding of UX intent and development
status.
7. Support Process Improvement (Design & DevOps for
UX)
A critical part of the role is to support the Vehicle UX
Manager in improving
how UX collaborates with engineering
.
This includes:
Helping
define better requirements management processes
Closing
current workflow gaps (handover, tracking, communication, demo,
validation, sign-off)
Supporting
initiatives to improve design â development â integration flow
Driving
adoption of more consistent Jira usage for UX tracking
Helping
introduce new tools, ways of working, and DevOps-style practices to ensure
long-term scalability
This person must not only track today’s work but also help
build
the future system
.
8. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare
weekly reports on UX requirements coverage, progress, blockers, and risks.
Maintain
decision logs, open issue lists, and experience validation trackers.
Provide
clear and concise updates to the Vehicle UX Manager and Program
stakeholders.
