Project Leader - U.S. International Tax

The purpose of the Project Leader – International Tax role is to lead the process of completing the International aspects of the U.S. federal tax return and any needed amended returns in a timely and accurate manner, including the book to return and information for the US federal estimated tax payments that properly reflect the planning and positions taken by the Company while mitigating risks through appropriate documentation and disclosure; and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of information in support of tax planning, audit, and accounting activities. Develop and refine the vision for international tax reporting including continuous improvement (working with the Tax Consultant – Reporting / Systems), relationship management, and the integration with other Tax COE and GBS processes.
This position reports directly to the Director - Tax Reporting/Defense within the Tax Consulting COE. The position is responsible for hiring and leading the Tax Analyst – International role. The position will not have any other direct reports but will be responsible for coordinating the work/completion of the international aspects of the U.S. federal return using shared resources. The position will also assist, directly and through intern support, in completing the state tax returns and amended returns.
The position is responsible for maintaining the 10-year Foreign Tax Credit model which supports the use of credits generated and whether a valuation allowance must be recorded.
This position requires extensive knowledge of US Federal tax law, regulations and reporting requirements, knowledge of international tax and tax accounting concepts and their application as well as operating taxes across multiple U.S. and foreign taxing jurisdictions. The incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of independence in handling a wide variety of tax and accounting issues, including quickly recognizing potential issues and implementing creative solutions. Enterprise project management skills are key to the incumbent’s success.
The position will be asked, as needed, to assist with other portions of the US federal return, state returns, monthly close support, and/or audit requests.
In this role, you will
· Tax Compliance and Filing Oversight
The primary accountability is ensuring all federal tax obligations are met accurately and on time.
o Preparation and Review: Oversee the end-to-end preparation of the international aspects of the U.S. federal tax returns, ensuring all related schedules are complete and compliant with current IRS regulations. Assist with U.S. state and local tax returns as needed. Prepare/Coordinate the international portion of the reconciliation of the tax provision as recorded to the return prepared for filing and explain all differences as required by tax policy (book to return), including recording in the tax provision software.
o Filing Deadlines: Maintain a rigorous tax calendar to prevent late filings, ensuring all extensions and payments are processed according to statutory timelines.
o Data Integrity: Maintain project financial data integrity by performing reconciliations and ensuring tax-related financial information is provided to Accounting for recording impacts.
· Support of Director-Tax Reporting / Defense
In support of the Director- Tax Reporting / Defense:
o Ensure the US tax forecasts (cash and ETR) reflect the best available information for key drivers.
o Provide responses to IRS inquiries and other audit assistance as required.
o Participate in and carry out the vision and strategic direction set by the Director – Tax Reporting/Defense.
o Assist with setting objectives for and managing the Federal Tax Reporting processes with an emphasis on International.

Foster strong partnerships across COEs and with external stakeholders, delivering clear, timely, and accurate communication. Support strategic initiatives such as tax modeling, system assessments, process improvements, and World-Class Finance projects.

Attract, mentor, and retain Tax Analyst – International role, providing coaching and feedback to enable professional growth. Demonstrate high standards of integrity, professional conduct, and transparency. Ensure exceptional customer service and uphold a safe, productive work environment.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications
· Minimum of 5 years of broad-based tax experience within a large multinational corporation or a Big Four accounting firm.
· Extensive knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and international income tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
· Strong tax research and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of legal and accounting aspects of tax matters.
· Broad knowledge of the Corporation and its accounting and reporting policies.
· Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, and Power Query.
· Experience with income tax compliance software, with a willingness to learn new technology tools.
· Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment under strict deadlines.
· Exceptional communication skills to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
· Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across the organization and with external stakeholders.
· Demonstrated managerial capability and analytical rigor.
Preferred Qualifications
· Professional credentials such as CPA, J.D., MBA, Master’s in Taxation, or MIS (not required but highly valued).
· Experience implementing or optimizing and process improvements.
