We’re looking for a Project Lead to join our team in Naarm and lead projects within a multi-year service transformation program for the Victorian Government.
You’ll be someone who enjoys bringing order to complex work, who’s equally comfortable in a budget conversation and a research debrief, and who likes being the person clients and teams can rely on. Your work will make a real difference to how Victorians experience an important public service.
Today is Australia’s most awarded social impact agency. We use design and technology to make positive change happen, at pace and at scale.
Our team includes strategists, researchers, designers, technologists and makers of all kinds. We partner with organisations across government, not-for-profit and industry to tackle complex social and environmental challenges, with a deep commitment to care, craft, and meaningful outcomes.
We’re a purpose-driven organisation. If you want to spend your days helping impact organisations make a difference, this is the place for you.

You’ll lead several projects within a human-centred design service transformation program, working with multidisciplinary teams of strategic designers, product designers, business analysts and technologists. You’ll work across a varied stakeholder group, adjusting how you communicate and what tools you use to suit the people in the room.
You’ll work on meaningful, community-focused projects alongside a team of passionate, inclusive and curious people. We offer generous benefits including flexibility, a learning budget, wellness support, generous parental leave and your birthday off.
You have 5+ years of project management experience in an agency, consultancy, government or similar environment, and a track record managing strategic, product or digital projects. You understand human-centred design and know how to run a project that has research and iteration built into it. You’re comfortable with both agile and waterfall approaches and you know when each one fits.
You bring a solid project management toolkit and you’re confident in the Atlassian, Microsoft and Google suites. You write and speak clearly, you stay steady when things are ambiguous, and you work through problems rather than around them. Business analysis experience is a bonus.
We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, proactive and kind. You look for ways to help the people around you, you know your strengths and you’re happy to support others to grow. You bring optimism and a sense of humour to the work, and you contribute to the culture and ways of working that make Today a good place to be.
Send in your application. We appreciate personal cover letters and ask that you avoid using AI to generate your words. We really just want to hear from you.
Maggie, our People and Culture Director, or your Hiring Manager will give you a call to discuss your application. We’ll meet for an interview to go deeper. An offer will be made.
In line with our values and as part of our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) commitments, Today is dedicated to being an inclusive employer. We welcome the unique contributions that you bring and actively seek applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disabilities, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, mature age workers, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. If there’s anything we can do to make the process more accessible, please let us know.

Today’s social and environmental challenges need to be met with bolder ambition and urgent action. It’s time to think bigger, explore possibilities and work together to create just futures. Today is an opportunity to think bigger and work together for a brighter tomorrow.
