Project Implementation Director
Location: Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo (role based on-site in Congo)

Lead the delivery of a landmark greenfield terminal project in Central Africa. We are supporting a major infrastructure and port development initiative in the Republic of Congo to appoint a highly capable Project Implementation Director to oversee the end-to-end execution of a new terminal in Pointe-Noire.

While this opportunity will be advertised in France to attract experienced international talent, the role is permanently based on-site in Pointe-Noire, Congo, reporting directly to the Managing Director and Steering Committee.

This is a senior, high-impact position requiring strong capital project leadership, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder management at executive level.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the full project management of a greenfield terminal development, ensuring delivery of the approved business case at optimal value

  • Mobilise and coordinate all business and asset workstreams to ensure alignment and timely execution

  • Drive cost-effective utilisation of external consultants and contractors

  • Establish and manage an integrated project schedule and realistic resource plan, including mobilisation of on-site teams

  • Ensure clear accountability across all project deliverables and maintain robust reporting and documentation

  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities, escalating key issues early to leadership for resolution

  • Lead structured change management processes, ensuring scope adjustments are fully understood across functions before implementation

  • Engage proactively with JV shareholders and senior stakeholders, leveraging their expertise throughout the project lifecycle

  • Recruit, lead, and coordinate assigned project team members while fostering collaboration and resolving conflicts where necessary

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree advantageous)

  • Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, CBA or similar) is advantageous

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience managing complex capital projects

  • Proven track record delivering large-scale infrastructure projects successfully

  • Client-side project experience strongly preferred

  • Experience in port infrastructure development and business ramp-up highly desirable

  • Comfortable engaging stakeholders at all organisational levels

  • Full professional proficiency in French and English (written and spoken)
