Band F: £53,151 - £58,466

It’s an exciting time to join UKSBS as we transform our business to be the leading UK public sector business service provider. We aim to become a very different organisation over the next few years as we move to a modern multi-platform, digitally enabled organisation.

In line with the Government’s Shared Services Strategy, the Matrix Programme is intending to deliver modern, cost-effective and scalable shared business services to nine departments (the Policy Cluster), with UKSBS as the provider, flexibly meeting changing Government requirements, and driving innovation to optimise efficiencies and enhance user experience.The Programme will also implement a new modern SaaS ERP platform, from which UKSBS can deliver these services, driving harmonisation and significant business change across the Departments.This is a large, complex multi-year programme and as part of this programme we are now seeking an experienced Project Finance Business Partner.

Key responsibilities, will include but are not limited to:

  • Support and help influence members of the Executive Team in delivering theMatrix programme through good financial management and performance
  • Providing support to and influence the Programme Director and Programme Manager in modelling resource allocation in support of preparing detailed budgets for approval.
  • Detailed review and adjustment of both actual and forecast figures during the monthly close process
  • To provide responsive analysis to Heads of Services and the Executive team in respect of finance-related queries
  • Ensuring that accounting and charging for Matrix is completed on a timely basis
  • Work with Partnership Managers to recover costs from clients where appropriate
  • To provide advice, support and appropriate analysis as part of regular reporting
  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities for delivering additional value
  • Use management information and reporting capabilities to enhance the company’s decision making

To be considered for the role, you will need the following:

  • Fully Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or have substantial proven experience
  • A proven work history of accounting and business partnering
  • Knowledge of project and programme methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience of project and programme financial control and reporting including scenario planning.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Excel ideally to macro level
  • First class written and oral communication skills
  • Proven relationship management skills and senior stakeholder engagement
  • Experience of Oracle or Workday would be beneficial
  • Experience of working within major transformation programmes
  • Prior knowledge of HM Treasury Green book guidance would be advantageous
