About this opportunity:
Join us at Ericsson as a Project Finance Accountant. In this crucial role, you will secure our efficient and compliant accounting for customer projects and orders, maintain accounting directive compliance (DRRES and OEF), and manage our setup and maintenance in SAP. Beyond this, you will also handle booking orders, recognize revenue and costs, engage in customer invoicing, close objects in SAP, and ensure our SOX and ABC compliance.
What you will do:
- Perform SAP structuring and set-up for customer projects and orders in line with Ericsson accounting directives and local requirements.
- Validate and book customer orders, ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with DRRES/OEF and contract terms.
- Manage incentives and third-party arrangements (TPA) and secure correct reflection in SAP and project financials, in line with IFRS and Ericsson directives.
- Secure proof of delivery (PoD) and perform timely and accurate revenue and cost recognition for customer projects.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, credit notes, cancellations and debit notes, supporting cash collection and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain high accounting quality and governance across project financials, including reconciliations and follow-up on issues and deviations.
- Ensure accounting compliance with Ericsson policies, SOX key controls and ABC requirements; provide audit support and respond to control-related queries.
- Execute SAP closure activities for projects and related objects, securing timely and accurate period-end and project-end closure.
- Proactively review SAP project objects and balance sheet positions (e.g. WIP, RUC, DR, UB), securing corrective actions with execution-responsible stakeholders.
- Provide project finance reports and analysis to Customer Project Managers (CPMs), Business Controllers and other key stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Contribute to harmonized ways of working and continuous improvement within Global PFA Operations and local finance teams.
The skills you bring:
- Experience in accounting or related finance roles, including areas such as accounting directives, compliance, invoicing and SAP, is beneficial.
- Experience with customer project execution, sales process and/or order management is useful to perform the role.
- Exposure to multi-country environment and local statutory/tax considerations is an advantage.
- In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in project accounting and related disciplines; able to solve complex problems by applying new perspectives to existing solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and data quality, with a focus on control and compliance (SOX, ABC, Ericsson accounting directives).
- Ability to work independently while acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues; strong collaboration with CPMs, Business Controllers and other stakeholders.
- Good communication skills to explain financial information and implications in a clear and structured way.
- Continuous improvement mindset, open to harmonization of processes and ways of working across global operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
- Professional accounting qualification or progress towards it is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition and project accounting.
- Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP) and MS Excel.
