Job Category: Nonprofit - Social ServicesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Project Developer, the Project Facilitator of Youth Employment Programs will provide project-based learning workshops to participants of the Summer Youth Employment Program. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Attend Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and RiseBoro facilitated Project-Based curricula training sessions to become proficient in the assigned project
- Responsible for the facilitation of assigned project-based learning experiences to two cohorts of SYEP participants daily
- Compile and maintain project portfolios
- Supervise, interact and engage the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participants at all times
- Track and record daily attendance
- Actively participate in weekly team meetings with Program Director, Project Director, and Educational Coordinator
- Coordinate and complete the presentation of a culminating program project
- Complete other related assignments and tasks as specified by the Project Developer
COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated direct service experience with youth or demonstrated teaching experience
- Demonstrated experience facilitating project-based activities or leading after-school program activities is preferred
- Ability to effectively multi-task, follow up processes, problem-solve, and use independent judgment to produce quality work
- Ability  to effectively lead and inspire a classroom of teenagers
- Ability to maintain detailed records, complete necessary paperwork and meet prescribed deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships
- A self-starter with a positive enthusiastic attitude and the ability to engage, connect, and exude commitment and passion for the work required
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
- Commitment to RiseBoro’s mission, vision, and values
- Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism/bias; ability to understand their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting communities that have experienced systemic oppression i.e. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of direct service experience working with youth required OR;
- College course credits with a minimum of two (2) years of direct service experience working with youth required OR;
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of two (2) years of direct service experience working with youth required; professional teaching experience preferred
