Reporting to the Executive Director within the Department of Health and Wellness, the Project Executive is a key member of the leadership team whose mandate is to lead, prioritize and drive initiatives that are focused on increasing the effectiveness of the health system related to physician remuneration. Directly responsible for accountability advancement, Alternate Payment programs and branch Data Analytics, the Project Executive is a key enabler in data driven innovation in this large health portfolio.
You will provide leadership, direction, guidance and project management for health system investment prioritization, risk planning, and outcome monitoring. You will lead and direct a team that provides evidence-based research, policy analysis, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation support for the development of legislation, provincial policy, standards and guidelines that are responsive to the changing health needs of Nova Scotians and aligned with the overall strategic vision and priorities of the Department. You will also work collaboratively across the Department, government and the health system on key initiatives to advance health system and services, strategy health system planning, health system reporting, performance monitoring and accountability.
Primary accountabilities include:
At minimum you have a Bachelor's Degree in an area such as engineering (particularly industrial engineering) or health analytics, plus several years of progressive, senior-level management and leadership experience in the public/health sector (or an acceptable equivalent). Possession of a Master’s Degree in a complementary area would be an asset.
The successful candidate requires competencies in the management of people which must be demonstrated through formal experience in the management of staff. This position also requires an individual who is experienced in leading large-scale change in a complex stakeholder environment.
Experience working with internal and external stakeholders is required. As a dynamic leader, the successful candidate must possess the ability to lead change, move forward with new initiatives and overcome ongoing challenges.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: scenario based examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
An equivalent combination of training, education and experience will be considered. Applicants relying on education and experience equivalencies must demonstrate such equivalencies in their application.

Salary Range:$4,754.34 - $5,942.94 Bi-Weekly
