During a period of rapid expansion GE Vernova are looking to recruit Project Engineers to work on our exciting new projects within our Northern European Grid Solutions Business which has the main offices in UK, France Denmark & Norway with a footprint in countries spread over north, south & west Europe. You’ll be based from one of our hubs, we have a flexible approach to working operating a hybrid system.
As a Project Engineer you be actively assisting the Project Engineering Leader in executing, managing & coordinating engineering activities for successful execution of the project in line with the project’s safety, quality, time delivery, and cost criteria. Your main focus would be to manage daily tasks related to project engineering management, supplier technical coordination and management of technical interfaces in line with project scope and delivery schedule.

Roles and Responsibilities:
o Responsible for issuing consolidation of provisional drawing list of the project or of your work package, integrating submission dates.
o Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with your work package, put in place technical interface sheets with partners, customer, and third-party contractors.
o Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality including Partner documents.
o Actively assist Project Engineering Manager / Project Engineering Director depending upon the project organisation, in managing day-to-day project engineering management tasks, change management, quality process compliance & governance activities.
o Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to the EMH procedures and per the project strategy.
o Manage scope or design changes & prepare related claims and VO to be approved by Project Engineering Director or Project Manager.
o Analyse customer technical requirements, for the respective work-package, ensure clause by clause analysis and compliance to Customer requirements through Technical Queries, identify, track, manage potential change.
o Ensure that Management of return status of project documentation internal or external (approved, comments, resubmit, rejected) is performed for your work package.
o Prepare or review technical specifications and supplier’s documents to enable procurement of materials and plant detailed design, including customer approvals where needed.
o Manage and lead supplier’ technical interfaces, document review & approval process, include-consolidate and ensure functional technical requirements for various stake holders, and lead the engineering coordination of suppliers from definition of requirements to commissioning at site and as-builts fulfilling all contractual obligations.
o Support sourcing / purchasing department in all technical matters in selection of vendor, definition of scope & interfaces including timely delivery of technical information.
o Manage the Bill of Quantities while executing the project, benchmarking with tender considerations, managing deviations and changes, follow quality processes in overall interest of project.
Required Qualifications:
o Engineering degree level or equivalent education/experience.
o Hands on experience to manage and lead equipment manufacturers and supplier engineering activities in EPC type environment for High Voltage Transmission Projects.
o Successful experience in project technical management in a multi-disciplinary team’s context including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries.
Desired Characteristics:
o Knowledge of the Transmission or Distribution industry is essential.
o Knowledge of HV/LV components and systems in HV Transmission projects related to GSI Work Profile.
o Knowledge of HVDC Systems, FACTS and/or Renewable Energy systems is beneficial.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o Autonomy and remote working.
o Flexible in adopting and prioritising in line with overall project needs.
