We are looking for Project & Engineering Executive Manager (Brazil)

The Project & Engineering Executive Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex engineering projects. This role oversees project planning, execution, and overall alignment of project activities, ensuring that technical requirements, budgets, and timelines are met. The Project & Engineering Executive Manager works closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to coordinate efforts, optimize project performance, and ensure the successful achievement of project objectives.

Your main activities will be:

• Lead, develop and oversee the Engineering organization, ensuring the delivery of business objectives, customer commitments and strategic priorities.

• Provide leadership, direction, and governance to multidisciplinary engineering teams through engineering and technical leaders, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.

• Define and implement engineering strategies, processes, standards and best practices to ensure quality, efficiency, compliance and continuous improvement across all engineering disciplines.

• Ensure the effective planning, allocation and utilization of engineering resources, competencies and budgets to support project execution and organizational objectives.

• Partner closely with Project Management and Business leadership to ensure alignment between engineering deliverables, project schedules, cost targets and customer expectations.

• Ensure effective risk identification, mitigation and decision-making processes related to engineering execution, project delivery and organizational performance.

• Act as interface between local and regional engineering teams, global engineering centers and business units’ stakeholders, promoting alignment, collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organization.

• Drive talent development, succession planning and people management processes to ensure organizational capability, engagement and long-term growth.

• Represent the Engineering organization in executive reviews, management forums and customer engagements, providing visibility on performance, priorities, risks and strategic initiatives.

• Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability and innovation, ensuring engineering activities are executed in accordance with company policies, industry standards and contractual requirements.

• Oversee engineering performance through the establishment and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), project health metrics and organizational objectives.

To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Industrial or related field)
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or MBA is highly desirable
  • Professional certifications in project management (PMP, PMI or equivalent) are an advantage
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering within complex industrial and/or transportation environments
  • Proven experience in systems engineering, product development, or engineering delivery in large-scale rail or mobility projects
  • Strong background in multidisciplinary engineering organizations (mechanical, electrical, software, systems, RAMS, V&V)
  • Track record in delivering complex, safety-critical, customer-facing engineering programs
  • Strong understanding of railway / rail infrastructure systems architecture and lifecycle engineering
  • Very good understanding of project management principles
  • Strong leadership, customer orientation, autonomy and team-working attitude
  • Ability to build and sustain high-performance engineering cultures
  • Strong decision-making in complex, high-pressure environments
