Project Engineer (Heavy Civil / Water Focus)

Title: Project Engineer
Location: Northern California (Sacramento region & project-based travel)
Compensation: $80,000 – $120,000

About the Opportunity:
Our client is a leading heavy civil contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects across California, with a growing focus on water and wastewater construction. They are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support field operations and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support project execution from preconstruction through closeout
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
• Assist with cost tracking, budgeting, and scheduling
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and owners
• Ensure compliance with contract documents and specifications

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer in construction
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related
• Interest in heavy civil projects (water/wastewater preferred)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
