The Project Engineer will support the IGNITE edge processing team by executing detailed engineering tasks, coordinating technical activities, and ensuring successful delivery of digital electronics hardware. This role works closely with program management, systems engineers, and suppliers to translate requirements into reliable, flight‑qualified designs.
Project Planning & Execution – Support the development of detailed task breakdowns, maintain master schedules, and ensure milestones are met; facilitate daily stand‑ups and status reviews.
Risk & Issue Management – Capture, assess, and track project risks and issues; implement mitigation plans and report escalations to the Program Manager.
Resource Coordination – Monitor workload balance and adjust assignments as priorities shift.
Stakeholder Communication – Prepare concise status briefs, performance dashboards, and meeting minutes for internal teams, senior leadership, and external partners.
Change & Configuration Control – Manage configuration baselines, coordinate change‑control board (CCB) activities, and ensure documentation integrity in EPDM.
Supplier & Contract Interface – Liaise with procurement and suppliers to track part deliveries, resolve non‑conformances, and monitor contract deliverables.
Team Support & Mentoring – Act as the primary point of contact for the engineering team’s day‑to‑day needs; facilitate knowledge sharing and assist with professional development.
Standard Job Description
Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
