Job Description

A major infrastructure and utilities organisation is seeking a Project Engineer to support delivery of improvement projects across hydroelectric generation assets nationwide.

This role will focus on managing engineering projects from concept through to commissioning and handover, supporting long-term sustainability and operational improvement programmes.

Additional Information

• Based from Dublin with regular site travel across hydro stations nationally
• 12-month contract
• SafePass and manual handling required
• Access to own vehicle required. Full driving licence required
• Hybrid working available depending on project requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering projects through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets and risk registers
• Support tendering activities, contractor selection and technical evaluations
• Oversee contractor management, site inspections and supervision activities
• Review RAMS, method statements and project H&S documentation
• Coordinate project delivery across live operational hydro sites
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
• Support drawing, document control and project reporting activities

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related Engineering discipline
• Demonstrated experience delivering engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of project management principles
• Experience working with contractors, site teams and stakeholders
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Full driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally

Desirable

• Experience within utilities, power generation or regulated infrastructure environments
• Experience working on hydro, energy or industrial projects
• Knowledge of contractor management and commissioning activities
