Project Engineer - Product Transparency

Work Mode: Onsite, Nuevo Sur, Monterrey

Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Kohler's product transparency and sustainability documentation programs. This role is responsible for coordinating Declare Labels, Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and Certified Recycled Content certifications while ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards. The position serves as a key liaison across Product Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, and external certification bodies to support sustainability goals, customer requirements, and product

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate the creation, implementation, maintenance, renewal, and publication of product transparency documentation, including Declare Labels, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), and Certified Recycled Content certifications
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Marketing, and external partners to collect product, material, and environmental data required to support transparency documentation, sustainability assessments, and
certification activities
• Serve as a coordinator (lead and support) with third-party certification bodies, auditors, consultants, and program operators to support the development, verification, certification, maintenance, and renewal of transparency documents and sustainability certifications
• Maintain transparency programs by ensuring certifications, declarations, and supporting documentation remain accurate, compliant, and aligned with applicable standards, customer requirements, and industry expectations
• Develop and manage systems to track certification status, expiration dates, recertification requirements, and renewal schedules, while proactively communicating key milestones and risks to stakeholders
• Support internal and external customer requests, sustainability reporting efforts, product communications, and specification inquiries by providing accurate transparency documentation and certification information
• Identify opportunities to improve transparency processes, data management practices, certification tracking, reporting capabilities, and overall program efficiency
• Monitor evolving transparency standards, sustainability frameworks, and certification programs, recommending updates to maintain compliance and support Kohler's sustainability objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Industrial Ecology, Materials Science, Business, or related field.
Minimum 2 – 5 years of experience supporting sustainability, environmental compliance, product transparency, certification programs, product development, project management, or related functions.

Preferred:
• Experience with Declare Labels, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), Health Product Declarations (HPDs), or similar transparency documentation
• Familiarity with ISO 14040/14044 standards, PCRs, and sustainability certification processes
• Experience managing documentation, certification renewals, compliance tracking, and cross-functional project coordination
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with external auditors, consultants, and certification organizations
