Project Engineer - Plumbing

The Project Engineer – Plumbing (MEP) is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing plumbing and associated MEP works on construction projects. The role involves ensuring that plumbing installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret plumbing, sanitary, drainage, water supply, and related MEP drawings and specifications.
• Plan and coordinate day-to-day plumbing installation activities at the project site.
• Supervise subcontractors, technicians, and site teams to ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings and method statements.
• Coordinate plumbing works with architectural, structural, electrical, HVAC, fire protection, and other MEP services.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, technical specifications, and installation details.
• Prepare and monitor work schedules, manpower requirements, material requirements, and project progress.
• Ensure the proper installation of domestic water supply, hot and cold water systems, sanitary drainage, stormwater drainage, sewerage, pumps, tanks, and related plumbing systems.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure that installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
• Coordinate the testing and commissioning of plumbing systems, including pressure testing, flushing, drainage testing, and equipment testing.
• Identify technical issues and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and project management teams to resolve them efficiently.
• Monitor material usage and ensure that installed materials are approved and meet project specifications.
• Coordinate with consultant and client representatives for inspections, approvals, and technical clarifications.

Candidate Profile:

• NDT / HNDE / BSc in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in plumbing and MEP works.
• Proven experience in plumbing installation and building construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, sanitary, water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems.
• Good understanding of plumbing drawings, MEP layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience in site supervision, plumbing installation, coordination, testing, and commissioning.
• Skilled in hot and cold water supply, sanitary drainage, soil and waste systems, and stormwater drainage.
• Experience in the installation and coordination of pipes, valves, pumps, water tanks, and sanitary fixtures.
• Strong ability to coordinate plumbing works with civil, electrical, HVAC, and architectural teams.
• Experience in coordinating with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Strong knowledge of pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, commissioning, and handover procedures.
