Job Description

In this role, you'll:

Join our Regional Road Network Maintenance team within our Road Maintenance and Resilience Division, supporting the delivery of infrastructure and maintenance projects that keep communities connected and people moving safely across NSW.

In this role, you’ll:


• Support the planning and delivery of a range of fixed and mobile plant assets to achieve agreed time, cost and quality outcomes


• Manage the asset replacement program by delivering specified project outcomes through the aspects of safety, legislative and quality standards ensuring that the deliverables are within scope, budgets, timeframes and meet stakeholder expectations to drive continuous improvement and innovation across the business


• Manage project and design activities, including preparing project briefs, estimates and delivery programs


• Prepare technical specifications and contract documentation to support procurement and delivery of works


• Participate and lead incident investigations of faults, provide evidence for the company’s representative for initial and attribution discussions


• Monitor contractor and direct control works to ensure safe, compliant and efficient project delivery


• Apply effective cost management practices to support strong financial performance across projects


• Work cooperatively within a team and across multi-functional program teams, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes, including performing activities under the scope of other roles if the relevant lead is not available. Contribute to workplace health, safety and environmental management practices across project delivery


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset management and project delivery outcomes.

We have multiple permanent full-time positions available across New South Wales: located at Yennora, Bega, Wagga Wagga or other regional locations within our South region.

About you


You’re an engineering professional who enjoys working in delivery environments and seeing projects progress from planning through to completion.

You bring:


• Experience or exposure to automotive engineering, heavy vehicle and mobile plant asset lifecycle management


• Experience or exposure to design and implementation of mechanical system upgrades in operational bridges, ferries or similar assets


• Experience or exposure in maintaining mechanical systems in operational bridges, ferries or similar assets


• Knowledge of engineering design principles, plant and vehicle design standards, and fabrication best practices


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines


• Knowledge of Australian Design Rules, National Heavy Vehicle Law and other relevant standards. The ability to apply this knowledge and provide advice in the construction and maintenance of heavy vehicles


• The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders


• A collaborative approach and commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

It is also essential that you hold a four-year engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualification in the field of mechanical engineering or similar, a current and valid Australian driver's licence, and have a willingness to travel and work outside standard hours when required.
