Job Description

As a key member of the Engineering team, the Project Engineer works cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Product Development, Marketing, Process Engineering, and external suppliers to ensure key business projects are successfully completed on-time.

The project engineer is responsible for handling the company's ongoing projects in a Food and Nutraceutical manufacturing facility. The individual will be working closely with team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. Additional duties will include submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans, as well as the proper execution of said plans.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a project engineer or technical project manager
  • Minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read building mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment layouts, packaging drawings, and technical documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Monday.com
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (PE license preferred)
  • Experience in GMP environment (preferred)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with internal departments to understand needs and incorporate requirements into the projects
  • Provides standard project status updates including, but not limited to, Project Gantt Charts
  • Liaison between ProCaps and General Contractors as well as equipment suppliers
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and third parties/vendors
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Monitor resource availability and allocation, making recommendations as needed
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress (Gantt Chart/Cad Drawings/Cost)
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation (Project Folders as Defined)
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques (Spending/Timeliness)
  • Report project status and escalate issues to management, as needed
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Meet with stakeholders/clients to clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • A large percentage of the time may be spent in the production area where noise level can be moderate to high
  • Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free manufacturing environment
  • Travel will be required up to 50% of the time but will not be required every month

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
