Job Description

We’re working with a global manufacturer in the Spartanburg area seeking a plant Project Engineer focused on driving capital projects, equipment installs, and plant improvements.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being on the plant floor, owning projects from concept through execution, and working cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and other teams to ensure successful project execution.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead capital projects from initial scope and budgeting through installation and final handoff
• Manage equipment installations, upgrades, and facility-related projects within an active production environment
• Coordinate and oversee contractors on-site, including scheduling, safety, and quality of work
• Support new product launches and process improvements within the plant
• Assist with plant layout, utility systems, and material handling systems (including resin systems)
• Track project costs, timelines, and overall performance
• Partner with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution

What We’re Looking For

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with capital projects, equipment installs, or plant improvements
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work with cross-functional teams on technical issues
• Familiarity with CAD and general engineering design concepts
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Exposure to PLC systems a plus (Allen Bradley / RSLogix)
