OVERVIEW
Marathon Petroleum Company’s Illinois Refining Division in Robinson, IL is seeking anElectrical Project Engineer to join the E&I Engineering Team. TheProject Engineer II/IIIwill report to theRefining Engineering Manager andprovide project management and E&I technical engineering services to support arefineryprocess operations team. Projects include small and mid-sizedcapitaland expense projects needed to properlymaintainandoptimizeexisting operating units. Management of multipleprojects concurrentlyisrequired

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Applies project management skills across all phases: development, justification, design, construction, andstartup
Manages multiple projects/programs safely, efficiently, and within budget; develops strategies to meet schedules and mitigate delays.
Ensures compliance with Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Information (PSI), and mechanical integrity documentation. Coordinates with external engineering consultants and designers to complete projects and studies cost-effectively.
Develops scope, cost estimates, and schedules for capital and expense projects; prepares Decision Support Packages (DSPs) andpresents toleadership.
Collaborates with stakeholders including Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams to support planning and execution. Coordinates with external consultants and internal teams to support execution.
Participates in HAZOP reviews and incident investigations; applies safety and environmental standards to designs.
Applies engineering codes and specifications; ensures designs meet safety, environmental, andpermittingstandards.
Promotes safety awareness and takes corrective action when unsafe practices or conditions areobserved
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Specifiesandpurchaseselectrical/instrument engineered material for assigned projects.
ProvidesE&I technical support on multi-discipline projects.
ProvidesE&I support, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills forrefineryprocess operations teams.
ProvidesE&Iassistanceto the Area Teams during process unit Turnarounds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Two (2) years or more of industry experience
Valid driver’s license
Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
Must be able to wearappropriate PPEin the refinery and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Five (5) years or more ofrefining/petrochemicalindustryexperience
Experience withelectrical power system designfor industrial facilities, electrical areaclassificationand industry standards (NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, API, etc.)
Experience in the use of Electrical management software such as ETAP or SKM
Experience programing protective relays
SKILLS
Microsoft Office Suite
Organizing, planning, critical thinking, and communication.
Ability to managecompeting priorities in dynamic refining environment

SCHEDULEREQUIREMENTS
Options:
1. 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗜𝗻-𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 5 days in the office per week, 8 hours per day.
2. 𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 4 daysin the office, 1 day work-from-home per week, 8 hours per day.
3. 𝟵/𝟴𝟬𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 9 hours Monday-Thursday in the office, with every other Friday off. On working Fridays, the schedule is 8 hours.
Additionalhours as needed for turnaround and outage support.
