Job Description

This position is with the Project Engineering group within the Global Supply Chain Engineering Planning & Execution team. The Project Engineer III will be assigned to large Engineering projects working closely with an Engineering Project Manager, project team leads, stakeholders, and site personnel as well as opportunities to manage small Engineering projects independently.

This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44113, Pittsburgh, PA Site, Dallas, TX Site or Chicago, IL Site.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised.   • FCA Preparation, tracking action items, recording and distributing meeting notes, updating project documents, project sharepoint /information management systems, OnBase Updates
  • Updates and maintenance of Scope documents and processes including Requirements, Work Breakdown Structures, Scope Statements, Change management, etc.
  • Budget / Cost activities including updates and maintenance of Commitment Ledger, tracking of Receipts, invoice resolutions, spend forecasting, updating of PFP, contingency spend, etc.
  • Schedule activities including updates and maintenance of Milestones, Project Schedule, Critical Path, forecasting, slack time, etc.
  • Monitoring and reporting of project progress, metrics, performance, standard compliance, etc.
  • Resource related activities including updates and maintenance of Project RACI, coordinating site visits and events, PPM updates, project team supplies and consumables, accessibility needs, etc.
  • Scheduling of project meetings, preparation of status reports, steering team reviews, etc.
  • Updates and maintenance to Risk Register, risk response planning, integration of Risk with change management and other project processes
  • Procurement Management activities such as RFQ/RFP editing, bid walks, bid evaluations and analysis, responding to RFIs, new vendor setup in procurement systems, vendor management, project inventory management, etc.
  • Coordination and assistance with Safety & Regulatory activities such as MOCs, PHAs, Permitting, Construction safety planning, etc.
  • Project-related Engineering tasks such as reading, understanding, and/or updating BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment & Instrument lists, General Arrangements, review of equipment and instrumentation, functional specifications, etc. as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Construction, Operations, or Computer Science
  • Must have at least four (4) years experience in engineering or operations
  • Must have work experience leading of capital projects (Design, Process, Controls, etc.)
  • Must have working experience with batch manufacturing processes and environments
  • Must have working experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Visio

Preferred Qualification:

  • Have at least Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering
  • Have at least five (5) years’ experience in engineering or operations
  • Have working experience with Project Management training
  • Have Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)
  • Have working experience in industry RAGAGEP (API, NFPA, ASME, ANSI, PIP)

  • Have prior work experience applying Process Safety Management (PSM)
