As a Project Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will manage and execute engineering projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and quality completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design & Implementation: Review and interpret blueprints for gas detection layouts, ensuring correct sensor placement for toxic, flammable, or oxygen-depleting gases.
  • Oversee Installation & Testing: Supervise the field installation, wiring, and integration of gas detectors, control panels, and alarm systems.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Lead the startup, functional testing, and bumping/calibration of specialized gas sensing equipment.
  • Ensure Quality & Safety Compliance: Check that all work matches contract requirement, environmental rules, and industrial safety laws (e.g., OSHA, IECEx, ATEX).
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Fix complex issues with gas detector, false alarms, control system or communication bus protocols (like Modbus or Profibus) on site.
  • Document Management: Manage technical submittals, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and operations manuals.

Key Experience & Capabilities:

  • Experience: Proven track record in project coordination with direct experience in gas detection, fire and gas (F&G) systems, or industrial automation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrochemical, catalytic bead, infrared, and photoionization detector (PID) sensor technologies.
  • Tools: Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems, AutoCAD, MS Project, and gas calibration tools.
