Job Description

The Project Engineer – HVDC will support the execution of Control & Protection (C&P) activities for HVDC projects from engineering through commissioning. The role involves coordination of design, technical documentation, system integration, testing, and site support to ensure project delivery meets quality, schedule, cost, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and execution of HVDC Control & Protection systemsfor ongoing projects.
  • Assist in coordination, review, and management of:
    • C&P design documents
    • Functional design specifications
    • Interface documents
    • Protection philosophies
    • Technical reports and engineering deliverables
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including:
    • System engineering
    • Hardware engineering
    • Software/automation engineering
    • Commissioning teams
    • Site teams
    • Customers and subcontractors
  • Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and technical discussions.
  • Track engineering progress and support timely closure of technical issues.
  • Contribute to FAT, SAT, and commissioning preparation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, technical standards, quality procedures, and EHS guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Control Engineering, or related discipline from tier one college with 3+ years of experience
  • Preferred experience in HVDC, FACTS, substation automation, protection & control, or power systems engineering
  • Understanding of:
    • Power system protection principles
    • Control systems
    • SCADA/automation systems
    • Electrical system studies and interfaces
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation and project execution processes.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and international project environment.
