Description de la mission

As a Junior Project Finance Associate within a project development company (IPP or infrastructure developer), the individual will support the financial structuring and execution of infrastructure and renewable energy projects. The role involves close coordination with internal teams (development, legal, technical), external advisors (financial, legal, technical), and financing institutions (DFIs, commercial banks, ECAs). Key responsibilities include:

1. Financial Modelling & Analysis


  • Build, maintain, and update project finance models in Excel

  • Run sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling to support investment decisions

  • Assist in the preparation of financial projections, IRR/NPV analysis, and lender covenants

  • Support equity valuation and debt sizing based on term sheet assumptions


2. Project Development Support


  • Work alongside the development team to assess the bankability of project structures

  • Track key project metrics (CAPEX/OPEX, tariff, financing terms) for decision-making

  • Assist in preparing documentation for internal approvals (investment committees, boards)

3. Due Diligence & Documentation


  • Coordinate with external advisors for financial due diligence processes

  • Assist in reviewing and summarizing key financing documents (Term Sheets, Facility Agreements, SHA)

  • Support the preparation of information memoranda and data room documentation


4. Stakeholder Engagement


  • Assist in communication with lenders, investors, and development finance institutions (DFIs)

  • Participate in calls/meetings with banks and advisors to support transaction execution

  • Help manage timelines and deliverables for financial closing


5. Internal Reporting & Budgeting


  • Support internal reporting on project economics and budget tracking

  • Prepare financial summaries and dashboards for senior management


Profil

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on finance professional who can support and gradually lead the financial structuring of renewable energy and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should have the following background:

Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field

  • 2–4 years of experience in one of the following:

- Financial advisory firms with infrastructure/energy focus (e.g., boutique financial advisory firms, Big 4 (KPMG, PwC Deals, EY Infra))
- International project finance banks (e.g., SMBC, MUFG, Société Générale, EIB, IFC, Proparco)
- Renewable energy developers or IPPs with exposure to project finance modelling and investment analysis


Skills & Capabilities


  • Strong financial modelling skills in Excel; able to work independently on multi-scenario models

  • Solid understanding of project finance principles (IRR, DSCR, sensitivity analysis, etc.)

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and ability to create clear, investor-ready materials

  • Business-level English required; French or Japanese would be a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in a multicultural and cross-functional environment

  • Proactive mindset, willing to learn and contribute across development, finance, and execution stages

  • Interest in working within a lean and agile developer team, with exposure to both strategic and hands-on tasks
